Digitizing Day with CCP
For Digitizing Day, Sunnyside Foundation with the Office of Congressman Grijalva, Pima County Public Library's Nuestras Raíces, The University of Arizona College of Humanities - Public & Applied Humanities and The University of Arizona Center for Creative Photography (CCP), welcomed Southside community members to bring personal collections related to the El Pueblo Neighborhood Center for on-the-spot archiving and digitization at the historic Frank de la Cruz Library.
The Sunnyside Foundation invited the community for a Digitizing Day on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023 as a part of Community Reinvestment Day at the Frank de la Cruz - El Pueblo Library. Together with the Office of Congressman Grijalva, Pima County Public Library's Nuestras Raíces, The University of Arizona College of Humanities - Public & Applied Humanities and The University of Arizona Center for Creative Photography (CCP), Sunnyside welcomed Southside community members to celebrate, share and preserve El Pueblo Neighborhood Center's history. For this effort, community members brought personal collections related to the El Pueblo Neighborhood Center for on-the-spot archiving and digitization. This included photographs, flyers, invitations, articles and more! Materials from the day were featured in art projects exhibited at the Fiesta Fotografica event that May. Meanwhile, El Pueblo library staff provided a special story time with a Sonoran Desert theme.
