Creative
Placemaking
Creative placekeeping are creative and cultural practices that cultivate attachments to place, that activate ways of belonging to them, and that expand moments for expressing them as well. Placekeeping, as opposed to the more common “placemaking” acknowledges the already present store of cultural memory and relations that sustain minoritized communities. While diverse in form (architectural studio, exhibition, art residencies), these projects are highlighted here as spatial interventions in design, planning and policy.
